Until you apply the patches or upgrade, you are advised not to connect your device to public Wi-Fi networks and to keep a close eye on any suspicious activity.

You can update your Apple Watch via the Apple Watch App on your iPhone by simply going to Settings=> General=> Software Update. Make sure that your smartphone and watch have at least 50% of battery in it, and make sure it is close to your iPhone. Once the update starts, do not disconnect your device until the process is complete.
