The Fitbit Charge 5 gets the “Find Phone” feature via a software update. This new feature will come in handy if you happen to lose your phone, as you can now use your Fitbit Charge 5 to help locate it.
It was a requested feature in Fitbit Community under “Feature Suggestions,” and now it seems that the suggestion has come to fruition. The status still shows ‘ Under Construction” on the Fitbit Feature Suggestions page, but the update has already been rolled out to many Charge 5 users.

How is the new Fitbit Charge 5 Find Phone feature work?
You’ll need to have your phone within 30 feet of your Fitbit Charge 5 in order for it to work. Once you open the Find Phone icon on your Charge 5, it will start ringing (even if it’s set to silent mode).
The new feature will come in handy if you ever lose your phone. With the Find Phone feature, you can use your Fitbit Charge 5 to help locate it. The device needs to be within 30 feet of your phone for the feature to work.

The Fitbit Charge 5 Software update 57.200001.171.50 brings “Find Phone” and other bug fixes. Many Fitbit Charge 5 users have already got this software update notification on their devices.
You can check for the update by going to the Fitbit app. If an update is available, you can see the notification on the top of the screen. Tapping on it will update the device. This software update 57.200001.171.50 seems pretty large, and it can take up to 40 minutes to complete the update depending on the internet speed.
If you don’t get the notification about the software update, you can check by going to Settings > Device Info > System Info > Version.
Once you have completed the software update, you can locate the “Find Phone” icon by swiping down on the home screen to access the quick settings panel.
Other Fitbit Wearables come with Find Phone Feature.
The Fitbit Versa Series and Sense already have this Find Phone feature. With the release of the new Fitbit Charge 5, all three devices in the current lineup support this feature.
It was the huge disadvantage of Fitbit Charge 5 as many of its rivals, such as Mi Smart Band 7, cost less than half and support this feature. Finally, it seems that Fitbit has listened to the suggestions of its users and implemented the Find Phone feature in the Charge 5. The release of the Charge 5 with this feature puts it on par with its competitors.
